About SuSu

Born Roni Suzette Montgomery, and know to the world as SuSu, this dynamic and versatile vocalist is capable of singing R&B to gospel and house music, opera and  blues to rock-in-roll; and in various languages. SuSu burst onto the domestic and international music scene in 1998 with You Don't Know, which stayed on Billboard for 6 weeks. She has been a featured vocalist on numerous albums with Bishop Hezekiah Walker and his Choir, such as He's Able and I Feel Your Spirit.  At an early age SuSu toured internationally with Queen Esther Marrow and The Original Harlem Gospel Singers, recording the live video Who's Gonna Carry You in Colon, Germany during that time.  She has also recorded and toured with many others.  Her first gospel song, The Search Is Over  was recorded with Pastor Milton Biggham and Reverend Jeff Banks.

SuSu’s latest single Magnify, is written by SuSu and produced by DJ Paul Newman of Kemnal Road Studios, London, Voices Vol 1 compilation. She has completed a second single, with Paul, for the Voices Vol 2, out later in 2019. In June 2018, SuSu released Let’s Have Some Church, produced by George Sykes III. The single is a testament to receiving the Holy Ghost, laid out in true gospel house music fashion.  Love Sensation is a masterfully done remake of Loleatta Holloway’s iconic single. Produced by DJ Spen, on Quantize Recordings, the single has them digging in deep on the dance floor.

While songs like Help Is On The Way and Thank You show SuSu’s powerful and inspirational vocal range, she is blazing her own path, inspired by artists like the late, legendary Aritha Franklin, Tina Turner, Clark Sisters and Patti LaBelle.  And, just like these powerful ladies, if you feel the music in your soul, you know SuSu must be singing.
